Free 3D assets
The parts bin for browser VR worlds. Prefer CC0, keep a credits file for anything CC BY, and check the individual asset page on mixed license libraries. Every license was read on the source site on Oct 31, 2026. One warning: Ready Player Me, the old avatar standard, shut down on Jan 31, 2026 after Netflix bought it; use Quaternius base characters instead.

60,000+ assets in 200+ packs. Low poly props, city, nature, dungeon, vehicles and characters, all in one consistent style. The best first stop for a coherent VR world.
Quaternius
70+ packs, 2,500+ models. The best free source for animated characters, monsters and animals, plus a universal animation library.
KayKit
Stylized low poly packs by Kay Lousberg: dungeons, forests, towns, platformers, rigged adventurers. Tiny poly counts and one gradient texture per pack, perfect for Quest.
Poly Haven
2,370 assets: 521 models, 856 texture sets, 993 HDRIs. Photoreal props and the sky and lighting files that make a VR scene feel real. Optimize the heavy ones for Quest.
ambientCG
2,013 PBR materials and 429 HDRIs. Ground, stone, wood, metal and fabric surfaces for realistic VR rooms, plus sky lighting.
Smithsonian Open Access 3D
Thousands of real museum objects in GLB: Apollo hardware, fossils, sculptures. Decimate the scans before VR, they are high poly.
Mixamo
Auto rigging and a huge humanoid animation library: walks, runs, dances, idles. FBX out, royalty free inside games. Humanoid characters only.
Poly Pizza

Millions of models, and the downloadable Creative Commons subset is the usable part. Filter to CC0 or CC BY, skip NC and ND.

Thousands of community 3D props and characters the curated packs do not have. Quality varies, the licenses are all game friendly.

Tens of thousands of themed packs from individual creators, including Kenney, Quaternius and KayKit. Great variety, read each pack license.
Khronos glTF Samples
The official glTF test models. Small, correct, and ideal for testing a WebXR loader and PBR materials.
Synty Studios
The best paid option when a whole world needs one consistent low poly style. Its license expressly allows VR and AR games.
Our starter stack
Kenney, Quaternius and KayKit for models, Poly Haven and ambientCG for surfaces and skies, Mixamo for animation. That stack alone can fill a world, and every piece of it is free.
